The Film

Settantotto 78 in motion.

The flagship. Twenty-five metres that bring together everything Cranchi has learnt since 1870.

For its 150th anniversary, Cranchi unveiled the largest model in the yard's history at boot Düsseldorf. The Settantotto 78 carries the art direction of Christian Grande on a hull by Aldo Cranchi — flowing lines without hard edges, a high, flared bow and a distinctive rubbing strake that give the yacht her maritime stature.

She is built in a highly automated facility on Lake Como according to Industry 4.0 principles. A two-part longitudinal split mould ensures repeatable precision while, through the Atelier programme, allowing almost any adaptation of paint, fabrics, materials and layout.

Three Volvo Penta D13-IPS 1350 drives of 1,000 hp each take the roughly 60 tonnes to up to 30 knots. In economy mode she achieves a range of around 800 nautical miles — a cruiser with a sporting soul.
